about

Jon Rose: Recorded at Jenny’s Wine Bar, Sydney, 17/8/1983 by Rik Rue on cassette.
And a few bits added from an event at 2MBS-FM, Sydney, 24/8/1983 recorded by Austin Harrison on cassette.

Jim Denley, Louis Burdett, Jeff Wegener, Michael Sheridan, Richard Vella, Jamie Fielding, John Gillies, and Jon Rose

The original cassette was edited roughly by using a pause button - a bit like the music itself (!) in which snippets of popular music genres collided with anarchic grooves, noise, and improvisation. There were no directions or instructions as to how it should sound. There was also no PA system.

According to Peter Rechniewski, there were about 300 people crammed into Jenny’s that night - he had to put on extra staff at the bar.
